Password Sites Exposed

(Written By Cyber-Fantasy, of QuickJerkoff.com)

The bane of the adult industry...Sites that give out user names and passwords to paysites. This can prevent surfers from signing up with you sponsors. They can cause huge bandwidth to paysite operators. They are evil... Or so I thought! Once again, I am writing this article to show that every aspect of the adult industry has a purpose. Each aspect also works hand in hand with each other. I also want to add that I do not condone what password sites are doing but maybe educate you on what you can do to profit if you fall victim of one. Also I am not a paysite guru but I have had some experience with a small paysite I owned.

If you are a paysite operator I must first warn you. Go get some decent software to protect yourself. Htaccess is not enough to stop password thieves. Software like Pennywize is extremely effective against password hackers using brute force to get passwords. If you’re serious about your business, take the necessary steps to protect your self. With the amount of content that a normal paysite has in it, a couple thousand visitors from a password site will cause huge bandwidth bills. Even with good protection software there is a possibility your site can get infiltrated. Once you catch it (Quickly I hope!) there are a couple steps you can take to fix the problem. You can ban the password and referring URL. Or a more effective way is just to change the member’s directory main page. If you do the latter, make sure you update your tour and signup pages to reflect the change. Then you can send them to a blind link sponsor or make the old page an auto dialer page with a couple hundred popups on it. Revenge can be sweet! Make some money off these freeloaders. Passwords sites pass the passwords around to all the other passwords sites. So if a password to your site ends up on one. It will eventually be all of them. The redirecting method of making some cash on them will work for a while but eventually the password site operator will notice its not going to your member’s area and take your link down. (Mission Accomplished!) Funny thing is, a couple password site don’t care for their links as much, or don’t update their pages much. So traffic to your blind link sponsor or dialer page could go on for a while. Making a nice bit of cash.

Second thing I would like to point out is that some paysites actually give out passwords to these sites. Effectively giving out trial memberships to there sites. Some adult webmasters take it a step further and build mock paysites to leech traffic from these sites. Or they build mock entrances to their AVS sites. If you ever surfed some of these password sites you will notice this. I would be ashamed to call some of these sites a premium pay site! From a surfers point of view, this lack of quality could cause them to signup to a well established paysite, just to cut through the bullshit!

Hope I opened your eyes to what goes on with password sites and what you can do to protect your paysite. My best advice is to check out the password protection section of Porn Resource (http://www.pornresource.com/cgiscripts/passwordprotection.shtml) and get some software. But by all means, if your site is compromised, make some money off it. Any kind of traffic is worth money if you know what to do with it.

I want to mention: I do not own a password site, but just wanted to share some experiences with a small paysite I owned.
