Does anyone remember about a few years ago when I first covered the “podcast” phenomenon? In case you don’t know what I’m talking about, a podcast is a pre-recorded MP3 “radio show” that users can download and listen to on various devices, including iPods, and hence the name of “PODcast”. This low-cost way of producing a serial audio show turned bored bloggers on their heads and everyone started doing it.
There’s shows out there for just about every subject you care to mention if you search hard enough for it. If you cannot find one, you can bet there will be one along pretty soon, and that includes adult niche shows. Yes, podcasting has crossed over into adult, now dubbed “porncasting”.
Don’t believe me? Check out this list of the more popular porncasts – one’s even sponsored by a mainstream condom manufacturer! As one reviewer put it “I think you can finally declare that a technology has made it when the pornographers begin to exploit it. In this particular case, it’s happened to podcasting.”
How can you use pod/porncasts on your site? Well, for one the demand of these casts is extremely high and if you can find a niche to cast about, get right on it! The casts have to be hosted on a site to be downloaded, so this is an ideal opportunity to hit your listeners with a little bit of marketing, but make sure it’s niche-specific. Just as you’d get the specific content to fit your niche, you need to push sponsors related to your podcasts.
If you’re going for a more general “talk show” podcast, you need to make it special as there’s plenty of them out there. Adventurous couple podcasts are very popular, as are the story podcasts – both ideal material to throw in a member’s area for some bonus content.
The best stuff, however, is when the models themselves get involved. Can you imagine a single girl site with a cute 20-ish girl, tons of content and then podcasts on top of everything else? While the members might not be able to take her content to work with them, they sure can take a cast of her talking about her exploits anywhere they want to!
Stuff like this is gold – if you’re prepared to put in the work to do them. But how do you create a porn/podcast? It’s really quite simple.
At its most basic form, all you need is a microphone plugged into your PC’s soundcard and an audio recording application such as ARWizard. I recommend this one simply because it records directly to MP3 format and doesn’t need a separate encoder.
If you want to add music to your casts (be aware of copyright restrictions and such if you’re tempted to use commercially-available music) you’re either going to have to mix the music in externally using a mixing board and a cd player or other audio source, or mix it in using your PC. The more expensive route is the external mixer, but this will give you a level of control that you won’t find on the PC. Otherwise you’ll need an MP3 editor such as GoldWave to splice in your music.
After that, it’s a question of uploading it, getting the word out and putting your “air” time to good use! The money-making ideas for this new craze are limitless, so try it out on your sites and see what you can do with porncasting.
