Well here it is, the very first day of the New Year and here I am back on Porn Resource. Not that I’ve ever really been away … I might not have been here but my brain dumps have been appearing over on Rated Hot for the last year or so … but now I’m back here and over there as well.

I’ve also been writing for another of Boss Hawg’s sites and life has certainly been fun since I was here last. Now it’s going to be even more fun … and busy as I write here and there and Steve and I keep on with our adult business, our mainstream business and try to live something close to a normal life.

I guess that’s one of the down-sides of business here on the Internet … we all just have to keep on working day after day because there’s plenty of competition out there and, when you’re a small business person like we are, that competition can be intense!

Not only are we all competing against each other but we’re competing against people who have gone beyond being a small business and have stepped up into the big league where we may only dream of being. For example if you’re an average adult webmaster and you’re building free sites and galleries every day you may find yourself competing against those who have developed systems that can churn out thousands of galleries every week.

Of course getting traffic to those sites can be a problem but if you’re playing the search engine optimization game correctly Google can fall in love with you and your network of sites and give you some seriously good rankings simply because you are turning out such huge amounts of content.

Once you’ve hit the jackpot with Google you won’t have to worry about traffic again and while others struggle to submit their sites and galleries to link lists and TGPs Google is going to be sending you that golden traffic that only a search engine can produce.

But are there people like that out there … people who are generating new content at an incredible rate on a daily basis? Well I have to say that I’ve never come across any here in adult but that doesn’t mean that they don’t exist.

Over in mainstream you will find that there are what has become known as content farms and Google is loving them. These content farms are using scripts and low-paid workers to turn out thousands of articles in a myriad of categories every day and it’s becoming very hard to keep up with them.

Even though you may be the absolute world-expert on a given subject and you have a website that you update occasionally these content farms are going to kill you in the rankings simply because they keep on churning out relevant … if low quality … content that Google gobbles up.

Competing with content farms … even if you’re an expert in your subject … can be difficult but not impossible. And as you grow your business and your sites it becomes easier to compete with them because these big sites … by their very nature are just like any other big business.

They may surge ahead and crush everything in their path but they can’t change direction quickly. So it may be a while before they can adjust to changes in the search engines or changes in the information that people may be looking for. They also have to deal with lots of people who provide content for them and managing all those content providers can be very difficult.

On the other hand smaller businesses … like the ones that you and I might run … by their very nature are much more nimble. We can change direction quickly when we see new trends appearing in the search engines … if we actually employ anyone else it’s only a handful of people at most and managing them is much easier than managing hundreds of content providers.

So don’t be afraid to take on the big people in this industry and work to beat them at their own game. It can be done and when you do it you will begin to reap the financial rewards that come with all that traffic that will flow into your websites.

But there’s one slight catch … yes, there’s always a catch and the catch here is all about you. If you want to hit the big time when it comes to earning money here online then there is one thing that you must understand.

Success here or over in mainstream is all about momentum. If you want to succeed then once you start you simply cannot stop … you have to have the strength and the determination to maintain your momentum and the moment you slack off or take a break then it’s almost impossible to get that momentum back again.

Maintaining that momentum when you’re working on your own can be hard … you get tired … you want a break … there’s no one else to help you along or encourage you … and it’s so easy just to take a day off and go fishing or mountain bike riding or surfing and not produce anything.

When you do that it becomes even easier to take a second day off … and a third … and before you know it you’re momentum is gone completely.

So if you want to succeed then you simply cannot stop. Sometimes … because of holiday seasons like Christmas you can slow down a little but you can never stop entirely and that’s one of the reasons why so many start the journey here in adult … and in mainstream too … but few can maintain the momentum to still be hard at it in a few months time.

If you want to succeed then you have to maintain the momentum … can you do it? Can you work that hard for that long?
